How Garage Door Replacement Panels Work

Garage door replacement panels may not always be the best solution for your garage door. If your garage door is more than 15 years old, the panels are likely no longer being manufactured and you will probably need to install a completely brand new door. If you have a specialized or custom made garage door, you are also not likely to find replacement panels. In addition, once your door has reached a certain degree of damage, it is more cost effective to replace the entire door.

If, however, your garage door only has dents in one or two panels, or the damage occurred at the top of the door when the bracket broke, installing garage door replacement panels could be the perfect solution. The process for installing these panels is actually very simple. First, the door is disconnected from the opening system and the spring. Second, the panels are removed and the broken one replaced. Third, the panels are reattached to one another. Finally, the door is reconnected to the opening system and several tests are run to make it works smoothly.
